COACHING FOCUS

Stress Exposure Through Competitive In-House Games
Purpose: Build comfort with pressure by exposing players to competition-like conditions regularly.
Teaching Method:
1. Format Selection – Run mini-leagues, knockout brackets, or speed rounds within the training group.
2. Time & Audience Pressure – Add time constraints for throws and allow teammates to watch closely, creating social pressure.
3. Small Stakes – Even symbolic rewards (winner picks next drill, loser cleans boards) can elevate intensity.
Beginner: Maintains full pre-throw routine in 50% of competitive drills.
Intermediate: Keeps scoring average within 10% of solo practice results.
Advanced: Shows no significant scoring drop across multiple in-house events.
Practice Structure:
1–2 competitive segments per week, 20–30 minutes each.
Keep a “pressure performance” score sheet comparing matchplay stats to practice averages.
