KEY CONCEPTS

Simulated Matchplay

Purpose: Recreate high-stakes game moments to train composure and execution under pressure.

Instructions:

1. Create short match scenarios:

Tiebreak: Both players start 1–1 in legs, first to 2 wins.

Decider: Start at 2–2 in a best-of-5 format.

Comeback: Opponent leads 2–0, you must win next 3 legs.

2. Keep standard scoring rules but use competition pace (no excessive pauses).

3. If practising solo, simulate opponent scoring realistically (e.g., using a random score generator).

ACHIEVEMENT MARKERS :

Beginner: Makes a throw decision within time limit on 80% of attempts.

Intermediate: Correctly chooses optimal scoring/checkout path within 10 seconds.

Advanced: Maintains accuracy % within 5% of normal practice even under time pressure.

Practice Routine:

10 minutes per session.

Round 1: 15-second limit for simple scores.

Round 2: 10-second limit for difficult scores.

Bonus: Use a buzzer or crowd noise app to simulate tension.
