Mental Rehearsal
Purpose for Players:
To build neural pathways by imagining perfect throws, so the brain practises without the body moving.
How Coaches Should Deliver:
Setup the Drill:
1. Ask players to close their eyes.
2. Guide them verbally:
“Feel the dart in your fingers…”
“See the target, clear and sharp…”
“Feel the smooth release…”
“Watch the dart land exactly where you aimed…”
3. Repeat for 5–10 imagined throws.
Coaching Cue:
Encourage vivid detail—players should feel the grip, hear the thud, see the flight.
Integration Tip:
Use mental rehearsal during warm-up or in downtime between matches to keep confidence high.
