COACHING FOCUS

Track Composure Post-Miss and Reinforce Emotional Stability

Purpose: Teach players to quickly recover mentally and avoid “tilt” after mistakes.

Teaching Method:

1. Immediate Awareness – After a miss, players must acknowledge (“reset”) instead of reacting physically or verbally.

2. Post-Miss Routine – 3-step process:

Step back from the oche.

Controlled inhale-exhale reset.

Mental cue: “Next dart, fresh start.”

3. Composure Scoring – Coach or teammate rates visible composure after each miss (scale 1–5).

ACHIEVEMENT MARKERS :

Beginner: Stops negative body language after 30% of misses.

Intermediate: Uses reset technique after 70% of misses.

Advanced: Automatic reset with no visible frustration in matchplay.

Practice Structure:

Track composure rating in every practice game.

If composure score drops, immediately pause for reset drill before resuming play.
