COACHING FOCUS

Teach Dart Flight Paths Using Slow-Motion Analysis

Purpose:
Help players visually understand how their release and grip affect dart trajectory.

Teaching Method:

Record From Multiple Angles – Side view (to see arc) and overhead view (to see line).

Use Slow-Motion (120fps or higher) – Highlight:

Release point relative to eye.
Arc height and dart wobble.
Impact angle on board.

Identify Patterns –
Is the dart rising, flat, or dipping early? Is there excessive side movement?

Make Micro Adjustments –
Small changes in grip tension, release timing, or elbow height.

ACHIEVEMENT MARKERS :

Beginner: Recognises their own flight pattern in video without guidance.

Intermediate: Adjusts release to produce a straighter flight within three throws.

Advanced: Can purposefully alter dart arc for different targets (e.g., a higher arc to get over blockers).

Practice Structure:

1 session per week dedicated to video review.

Do 10 throws, watch playback, make one technical adjustment, repeat.

Keep old footage to compare improvements over weeks.
