TECHNIQUES

First Dart Focus Drills
Purpose: Train accuracy and confidence on the first dart — the one that sets up the rest of the visit. Instructions: 1. Stand at the oche in your normal stance. 2. Select a target zone (start with T20). 3. Throw only the first dart with full concentration — ignore the next two darts. 4. Reset after each throw (retrieve darts if needed) to keep the “first dart” mentality.
ACHIEVEMENT MARKERS :
Beginner: 5+ hits out of 20 attempts. Intermediate: 8+ hits out of 20 attempts. Advanced: 12+ hits out of 20 attempts under normal match pace. Practice Routine: 10 minutes daily — alternate targets between T20, T19, and a chosen double. Log results in a notebook or app to measure hit percentage over time. Bonus: Use a timer to mimic match pace (10–15 seconds between turns).
