Practical Steps: 

• Mark the correct board height using a measuring stick and spirit level. 

• Use IDSL OCHE STICKES or alternatives to mark oche line precisely on the floor. 

• Set up safety mats or barriers behind the board. 

• Check lighting — avoid shadows over the board. 

Implementation Strategies:

 

• Create a board setup checklist for students to complete in pairs. 

• Run a “board safety audit” game where students inspect and rate the setup. 

• Use a spirit level and laser measurer where possible for accuracy. 

• Rotate board setup responsibilities among students weekly to reinforce learning.
